This session will explore the power of AI to impact and transform the teaching and learning experience. Emphasis will be placed on the potential of IBM Watson to advance online learning capabilities. Examples of Watson-based solutions will be highlighted and insights will be shared from the inaugural $100,000 Nittany Watson Challenge. Opportunities for future participation in AI projects at Penn State will also be discussed.

Rich Prewitt is an IBM Distinguished Engineer and Chief Test Engineer for IBM Systems responsible for driving improvements in testing across the IBM Corporation as it advances towards greater technology integration and solution oriented product offerings. Rich is a 1984 graduate of Penn State in Computer Science and now serves as the On-Campus IBMer at Penn State. His focus is on building stronger relationships between academia and industry.
